Erin on Sirius

Erin looks cold
She could use a hot bath,
and if she can afford it,
a week's vacation--she's doing the math.

She saw a comet when she was 17
Nowadays it's somewhere between her eyes and her brain.
She needs someone to talk to about it.
If you sit and listen it's like spending the afternoon in the star system Sirius.
You'll see her eyes brighten and the atmosphere notch up it's oxygen count.

It's a place where war hasn't been invented, she surmises,
and children awaken to Sun rises.
Each day filled with surprises
like the comet she saw when she was 17.

Hi Greg! I've been MIA lately, for which I apologise. So lovely to see further responses to my art. :)

I can almost see the comet booming away in her head! I love it!

Thank you Lily ,for your empathy.
(Philip K. Dick) ,one of my favorite writers saw human behavior on a spectrum with paranoia on one end and empathy on the other.)

And I love your paintings. Are they paintings? How do you create them? Some deep humanity comes from your characters(or subjects)

Erin looked a lot like my mother looked and it helped give we a foundation on which to understand and know her.(She 's been dead for several years)

She really did see a comet when she was 17 ---a very close one--or that's what she claimed. And that really is the only "unusual" story she ever told.

Thanks again

Greg
